Hi all - I’ve just joined coming from the ‘we hate Xero because of the price increases’ thread on the soon-to-close official Xero members forum.
Watching the shit show which is Xero and their disdain for their customers, it struck me that there is a real place for a community developed alternative. Open source. Not-for-profit. Anti-entrapment. That stuff.
The route would be to get a team together, agree primary requirements for an initial launch, agree a development protocol, build, beta test, and then release.
Obviously many decisions needed (like how much funding is needed and where to get it from) but these would be guided by initial agreed principles. Nothing at all insurmountable there.
Keen to gauge interest. Please reply here if you think you’d a) like to be involved in setting it up and/or b) a user.
